TransGo shift kit and 4x4 pan installed
Well, this one turned out just as good as the one I recently installed in my '99 Lightning.
TransGo gives you a few different specs to use when drilling the holes in the accumulator plate. I used the "diesel" specs on my Lightning b/c that's my vehicle and I don't mind a firmer shift. I used the V8 specs on the '00 5.4 Expy. I already have a chip in it, so the shifts are better from the factory to begin with.
But, they are excellent now. Quick, firm shifts, but not obnoxious at all. Even got a tiny chirp on the 1-2 shift at full throttle. Just driving around, you _know_ its there b/c you installed it, but not b/c its snapping your neck or anything.
Since mine is a 2WD, I installed the 4WD pan (the 5.4 trucks come with the 4R100 diesel trans) and filter...holds an extra quart of fluid and has a nice drain plug on it (instead of having to drop the pan EVERY time you want to change the fluid).

Yes, the 2WD version does not come with a drain plug. Neither did the 4R100 trans pan on my '99 Lightning.
But, they both do now!
