Thanks for the compliments!

We just bought it about 3.5 weeks ago, so its bone stock performance-wise, except I did just install a Superchip module about a week ago.

My budget for a blower was used on a completely new stereo system complete with drop-down 7" monitor and a VDP unit. Great for trips with the kids.

Other than that and the exterior mods you see, it is completely stock. The tires are 285/55-18 Pirelli Scorpion Zero. These are taller and slightly narrower than what comes on the Lightning b/c I didn't want to screw up the speedo.

If it were MY daily transportation, I'd lower it a little bit. Still might, but I'm not sure. I've got a K&N air inlet/filter kit coming for it. Wife says to leave the exhaust note alone. When I get a cat-back for my Lightning, I may have the stock L exhaust tips put on the Expy.

Mine is a 2WD. I do not know if the 4WD is different enough to cause a problem. let me ask this...are the standard 16-17" wheels for the 4WD the same as the 2WD trucks? If so, then I think the L wheels would look fine.

As for the bumper/grill assembly it was ~$1000 all said and done (parts, prep, paint, and installation). I do not know if the '98 uses a different stock grill than the '99-00. Even if it does, as long as the headlight assembly is identical, I'd think you could replace it easily.

WA 2 FST,

Is it a 4x4 or 2 wheel drive? I'm not sure the Lightning wheels would work on mine, due to the 4x4.

Also, what did the bumper and grill cost you? Do you know if I can replace the '98 bumper and grill set to the '99+ setup?

Uh oh, my brain is starting to think again!! Again, Thanks!

WOW!! Sweet ride!

-I have a '97 Expy EB, you think that front setup would fit? (I have the "old" style grill)

Thanks

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

You have to replace the front grill anyway. My body shop said that they wouldn't paint the chrome plated grill my XLT came with...plus you have to replace the grill "insert" with the Lightning honeycomb one if you want it to look right.

As long as a '99-00 bumper and grill assembly will fit on a '97, you shouldn't have any issues. Just ask the local dealer...assuming they have a body shop. That's who you need to talk to.
