I am looking to buy new a new brush bar for my 2000 and don't want to go through the dealer.

If you find a brand you like, call the manufacturer and ask them for a local shop that sells that product. They'll usually give you a list of places from which to choose.

If you feel like tackling the install yourself, then perhaps a mail-order company can fill your needs.
