Airaid or K&N FIPK?????
#3
I just installed the Airaid. Although they haven't gone through the emisions cetification, I agree, it and the K&N give you the same performance for the same money. The reason I went with the Airaid was looks and fit. I'm sure the K&N fits well, but the Airaid has an aluminum tube that looks nicer and the thing mounts very solid. I've also heard many people with K&N mention how loud it is. I think the Airaid, maybe because of the heavier aluminum tube, may be quieter. I only notice it under hard throttle and it sounds very mellow, like the secondaries opening up on a quiet 4bbl.
Keep in mind also, they both use a K&N filter.
Airforce 1 is emisions certified (as of Jan 2001 anyway), it looks really pretty and costs about $30-$40 more. Check all 3 out on the Online Store here at F150online.
