gas mileage
#2
Ive just turned over 6000 miles on my '00 and we are getting 13.2 according to the little overhead fuel pod. When it was brand new we were getting 12.7. This is all in town driving, havent had it on the hwy. yet.
On my 97 EB EXPY with the 5.4 I am getting 15.2 in town. And thats with a heavy foot.
But, the 00 has the 3.55 rear end and the 97 has a 3.31 Hope this helps.

Hello leon. I have 2001 X with the 5.4 and a 3.55 limited ls axle. We started of getting about 13 average. I then put in a K&N oem replacement filter and a 3in. pipe with a flo-pro muffler running from the y-pipe to the stock exit. On which i placed a dual slash cut stainless steel tips. This immediately yeilded a 2 mpg increase and we were not over 1,000 miles yet. We are now at 2600 miles and we just got back from a trip to Dallas, about 350 miles. We averaged 19mpg and went 408 miles before the low fuel light came on. That was running 74 mph. ON the way back we were bucking a pretty good headwind (20mph) and we averaged 17. Cant complain about that. We get about 15-16 around town which is only 1or 2 mpg worse than the windstar we had and the windstar only got 22 on the hwy so that is not much of a difference, especially considering the difference in the two vehicles, that is the X is way cooler.

I'm about there too. Before any mods, I would get 12.5 to 13.5 around town and couldn't do any better. About 15-16 on the hwy at best. I'm not sure the SuperChip did it but I installed it and the Airaid at the same time. Now with all 3 mods, I get 15+ around town and 18+ on the hwy although I]ve only made one road trip since the exhaust.
The difference I've seen is that now I CAN get much better milage if I try. Before I couldn't no matter what I did.
I think the Airaid and Exhaust made the biggest difference in MPG but the SuperChip sue did make it much more fun to drive.
It takes less effort to get more performance.
