Question jmartinb, yet another question for you!

I hate to keep buggin you with questions, but I just noticed in your sig you replaced your driving/fog lights with superwhites. What size did you use? Mine call for (according to the owners manual) 899's but I can't find a marking on the bulb itself.

I've heard of 9005, 9006 and 9006x working. I don't what real bright but more than the 42w OEM. I've got 80/100 9007's now and like them. Especailly the look; very clean and crisp. I did the Autolamp switch mod so now I really want to add Xenon Superwhites for the driving lights.

Damn, I can find ways to make a simple question turn into a long post....

Hey FamilyRide-
No sweat asking questions...that's why we're all here! I purchased my superwhites from Roger at the Online store. I am using 9145X for those bulbs. These are not ultrabright but are much better than stock. The only thing I want to caution you about blue-ish tint. Because I haven't done the Autolamp mod, I can't turn on the foglights by themselves to see if they cast the same hue as the headlights. Just a heads-up on that possibility if you buy them from the Online Store.

A question back to you...how difficult in the Autolamp switch mod? Provided it's not to difficult, I'd live to give it a try.

Oh yeah, one other thing. I purchased on eBay the Ford Dealer Technical Service Manuals CD for our vehicles. Very cool!

Thanks. Ya, I've heard that those are fairly blueish. I want to match the ones I have but the guy I got them from on eBay doesn't know what would fit. I'm not sure, maybe I'll compare some at an autoparts store to see which one fits. I think it was 2000Lariat or 2000SCrew that said he's using 9005 halogen's and they fit.

The switch mod. wasn't hard at all. I love it. But now with the halogen driving and superwhite heads, I hate using both on atuolamp but then again, it doesn't look that bad. I do however, love being able to run parking lights with the driving lights. To do that you have to do the splice thing. But that is super easy as al you do is use a tap clip.

Thanks for the feedback once again. Oh ya, I saw you got the manuel in another post somewhere. I may do that too.

If you, or any of the other Expy owners need some service manual info, just let me know.

For the splice thing, it is referenced here in the archives?

Thanx, Ride.

Yes. Best thing is to go to www.svtlightnings.com He's got a link on the left side something about how to's. It's got the instructions from the posts here all in one place. The last part by What04 has a great tip about the shaft so it will snap into place. Mine feels and works like it was made to work this way. It's great!

As for the slice, it's really just tapping to wires. #2 and #12 and you'll see it's easy to spot.
