Skank Dog-
Recently, a number of us have installed the Gibson Swept Side onto our Expys. I replaced a Jardine catback with the Gibson, and it was the best move I ever made. No low-end loss, no interior drone (heck, just a hair about stock), and noticable performance gains. Very worthwhile upgrade.

You can get it from truckperformance.com for $270, or $420 for stainless steel.

Good luck with your selection...

I'm another one. I had the FIPK and Superchip already so I can't speak for the raw difference in just the Gibson. I also didn't reset the computer when I installed but I feel like I'm feeling more power now after about 1500 miles.

The sound is great. Click on the link in my sig at the bottom. I threw together a little page that has very little but I do have links to 2 recordings of the exhaust. Keep in mind, and tell your wife, the one right next to the tailpipe, is "right at the tailpipe" and it really sounds louder than it really is. It sounds like what you would remember and old big block sounding like. Heck, it sounds like a V8.

Also, you can click on the Gibson in my sig for a piture (a bad one) of how the tailpipe exits. It looks good. The tip is the same 304 polished stainless whether you get S/S or aluminized.

Look at some of my post in Computer chips too. I've seen pretty nice MPG gains too. That's partly due to easier driving but I couldn't do it before. Worst case now, with no change in driving from before and I'm still getting 1.5 to 2 MPG better.

Oh, the is easy, colon and upper case D. Click on "Smiles Legend" on the left when you're posting or editing and you'll get all of them

Sorry about the test. Hey what I wanted to know, were you able to remove the stock exhaust in one piece or did it have to be cut out. I have a Gibson 3.5" stainless tip in the meantime. It looks great but really want to do more. Saw a Borla on a Navigator. Looks good over stock but I don't really like the Borla tip. Looks hokey. And is it really noticeable inside or not. I hate mods that drive me nuts after awhile.

I tried to remove it without cutting bu no go. I easily unclamped the headpipe and sprayed a litle WD-40 on it and let it sit overnight and it was loose as could be. However, the OEM clamp is so tight it leaves a major crimp so you have to cut some. Once you go into it knowing that and just cut it, it's a breeze. Look in Exhaust Systems for posts by me and several others about our installs. A lot of them around December and January.

I love the Swept Side

From Truckperformance.com, it was around $270 for the standard, and $420 for the stainless steel.

I sold my expy a few weeks ago. I have the gibson dual sport catback sitting in my garage. It has less than 2 months / 1000 miles on it. I put it in the classifieds section if you are interested.

Cool. Glad it helped. Hmm, wonder if Gibson would consider a little commission for all the referals. Maybe donate S/S headers?

I think the Swept Side is just right for the Expy.
