There is a "module" that gets plugged into the wiring so DRLs work. I believe it is located (roughly) behind the driver's side headlight. This module could be the problem. I don't think they are very expensive, either.

Question

There's also a relay above the glove compartment. You get to it by removing (carefully) the ovel shaped panel on top of the dash. Without DRL, it's just a loop-back plug. The part up by the headlight is a resistor.

Ok, I didn't just know all that, I found an old post where the DRL install was talked about, but someone put the instructions together and posted on thier website. Go to http://www.geocities.com/skyjet1/DRL.html

Pictures, diagrams and all! Fix it yourself and easily thanks to this site. Isn't this a great site?

Thumbs up

Even better info from FamilyRide!

Our Expedition is quite unique in that it has absolutely NONE of the "extras" normally found in these great vehicles. Doesn't even have the wiring for the extras- as I found out when wiring fog lights.

There is a factory recall for DRL's. The contacts can corrode causing the lights to go out (wouldn't that just be too bad) .
