Post 3rd seat brace

Anywhere (other than a salvage yard) to find a 3rd seat brace like what was standard on 00's and newer. If anyone has installed one, how much fun was it?

Are you talking about the prop bar that holds the third seat up for more storage? If so, they're were two companies that sold them. Also different designs. I use the stowaway on my 99 xlt. It works good and will unbolt in 3 minutes to release the third seat to take out of vehicle. The other was strut bar, or something like that and it held the seat up. Don't know much about that one though.

I purchase a Stow-Away from the manufacturer, Cargo Products. It is $72.95, and they can be reached at :

They have a nice online movie that shows how it works. They only include wing nuts for one side and regular nuts for the other. I bput some wing nuts for the driver's side so I could remove it without tools if need be.

Thumbs up

I think Ford had the "prop bar" available for pre '00. At the time it was a ridiculous $100 but you could probably still get the set up and not worry about bolting etc. I love it. Flip up and snap.
