truck dies/dashes on milage guage

I have a 2000 Navigator. Last week I was driving and it just died. all the guages went to zero and dashes went across the digital mileage guage. I waited a few minutes and it started right back up. a few days later it did the same thing to me again. I took it to a mechanic that put it on a machine and said no codes were showing. He had it for 4 days and it never died on him. I got it back two days ago and it did it again. Any ideas???? I googled the problem and it came up IC module????

Check all fuses and relays, and make sure none of them show signs of being "burnt." My 03 did that because it had a short in the PCM relay location in the fuse box. Granted, that was a problem with early build 03 Expys, but it might be something similar in your case.

The symtoms are usually associated with a bad battery, but since it comes and goes, I would check all battery cable connections and grounds.
