Nuetral Safety Switch

I am replacing the neutral safety switch on a 2000 Expedition. Is there a way to manually align the switch without using the ford proprietary tool? Don't really want ot wait for a tool to show up, for a one time use. Thanks, Bryan.

Yes.

Put the transmission lever in reverse, ignition in RUN (engine off), emergency brake set and wheels safely chocked, and have someone tell you when the backup lamps are on while you adjust the position of the body of the switch. Center the switch in its travel, tighten it down. Test to make certain you can crank the starter in both P and N and you should be right in the ballpark.

Thanks, I almost feel a bit foolish for not thinking of that. Thanks again, it can't get much easier than that. Bryan.
