Michelin Tires

Ford bought me new Michelin LT M/S to replace the Firestone Wilderness tires that were on it. The LT's probably would not fare too well off road, but for around town and travel, they are much quieter and smoother than the Firestones. I have about 4,000 miles on them so far, which includes one 3,000 mile trip. They are the 265/70/17's. Will have to wait to see how they do in the mountain snow this winter.

I was looking to replace my tires because I'm getting ready to drive from Florida to Washington State.... I found the Mich CrossTerrains at Costco for about 650.00. I'm also in the process of bidding for Navi Aluminum rims on Ebay for 250.00... brand new... I hope I get those rims. I'm hoping that this would be a huge improvement over my stock General and the fake chrome 17 in rim that ford put on my EB.
I priced this tire and Allied Discount tires quoted me 1100.00, Firestone 900.00, Sears about 800.00

Hey Familyride
TOYO PROXES S/T a great tire for handling, especially in the rain
makes a 285.60/17. This way you can still keep your stock
wheels.
Check out www.toyo.com
good luck

Hey FamilyRide...
Look what I got on Ebay today...
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...&ed=1004714670
Costco called me tonight to inform me that my Mich CrossTerrains have arrived....
everything cost less than 1K
now all I need is an onboard gps for myself and some form of rear seat entertainment system for my son and I'm good to go on my trip from Florida to Washington State.
any suggestions on the gps and rear seat video... I don't want to spend too much more... already spent enough.

Man, here we go with a new trend.
Next thing you know across the US Navigators everywhere will be loosing their wheels. Hmm, a market stratagy: I wonder how the Expy wheels would look on a Nav.?
But I have to say, they look close enough to the Expy wheels to look good but not look too "aftermarket".
Now here I go digging around on eBay.........

I went with the Navi wheels because they are one piece alum. And yes, they do look less aftermarket, and a lot cheaper than the Lightning rims that I kinda wanted. I'm not too fond of the plastic chrome that Ford put on the Eddie Bauer package... I'm suprised that some of the XLT's have nicer wheels than the EB. I'm hoping that these wheels will balance a lot nicer than the stock fake chrome on steel ones that I currently have.
