I wonder if this means the F150's will take on this design too. I hope not. I don't really care for the Explorer design.

Don't care for the front end, sure like the fold down flat third seat. One of the few drawbacks to my 99 is the third seat that won't fold flat!

Ford's Press Release on the 2003 Expedition..

https://www.f150online.com/fordnews/view.cfm?nnum=115

Opinion: the interior is way too minimalist for a truck that can fetch over $40,000

Make a two door call it a Bronco and add the DOHC 5.4L and I'm in. If I had a familly I'd buy a 4 door.

I wonder if the V10 will fit now that the hood is 4 " higher than the old model? Very Interesting... Why else would Ford make visibility worse than before? Looks I guess...

$40K? Is that all? A guy I work with paid more than that for a GMC Envoy, and to me, it looks like crap. Hell, my old '94 Pathfinder had more room in it than the Envoy, and it only cost $20K. I agree, hope Ford doesn't change the interior of the F150 go look as cheesey.

I doubt the space is for the V10. Probably needed the extra room to fit the "baby PSD" that will be offered.

I think that the new expedition will grow on you sooner or later. I recall people saying that the style for the 1997+ F-150 was ugly when it replaced the older box style ford truck.

I'm surprised. I like it.

As for visibility? Worse? If a new style f150 or Expedition is the only truck you've ever driven I could understand that. Otherwise, holy cow, the sloped front makes it hard to feel like a truck. You can't even see the nose real well.

Now to go read about what power is available out of the gate. If something's going to release and cream the value of my current Expy even more, I guess I should learn more about it.

Thumbs up

The more I see it, the more I like it. I think they did a great job. IMO it looks better than the Explorer. As close as it is to the Explorer, somehow the front end looks better in the above pics. I think the angular fog lamps help. The tow hooks are nice too. (I wonder why the newExplorer doesn't have tow hooks?) Much cleaner. Wish I could justify one.
Maybe they'll wait a year for the new baby Powerstroke 4.5L diesel?

Thumbs down

The interior on the '03 Expy is terrible! Looks incredibly cheap...the round vents don't look right.

No way I would pay that kind of money for that interior....

Front end of the Expy isn't much better.....

Would the BPS @ 4.5L V6 require more space than the 5.4L?

The exterior looks fine. The interior is fine with one GLARING exception. The A/C vents are butt ugly. The first time I saw it on a GM product, I hated it. Now that it's on a Ford product, I hate it even more.
