Does anyone know if the 2000 EB Expy mirror (signal/heated) are retrofittable into a '99 EB Expy?

Has anyone done this mod?

I have heard of others who have done this mod. It can be done, but the wires are not already in the door and must be run.

Interesting enough I wanted to do the same mod. I went yesterday to the dealer who looked up both. The 00 mirror assembly cost $253 ea and have 1 more wire than the 99 for memory. The only way I see it working is to get a wiring diagram for both and an extra 99 harness that goes from the mirror to the vehicle so you could cutoff the 00 harness and splice in the 99 and then plug it into the harness that comes from the vehicle.

I'll keep checking with salvage yards and e-bay. I want to put a convex mirror on the outside corner, but doing so now covers up part of the turn signal built into the glass.

I would think the memory wire would be for the memory seat/pedal/mirror memory feature that came with the 2000 Expy. Our '99s do not have that feature, nor could (or would) you want to retrofit that into a '99. I know the '97 thru '99 signal and heated mirrors are interchangeable. Therefore, both sets of wires should be run to the mirror. I would also venture to guess this mod. could be accomplised by simply replacing the '99 mirrors with a set from a 2000 thru 2002. I am probably way off base.

I'll let you know. The parts guy said it (the connectors) were different from 99 to 00 (because of the memory wire). I ordered the Expy repair CD that supposedly has a breakdown of everything. Between that and as I said earlier of actually seeing the two harnesses side by side I won't know. Enough smarts on this site to help figure it out.
