does anybody know if the DOHC will fit in my gator.
i know they are the same engines with different heads but will it work.

what all will have to be changed.

not too worried about costs.
i am at 150,000 on my SOHC engine and have though about buying a new engine.

I know you said money was not an issue, but you could just get a brand new 5.4L SOHC like all the other trucks, saving a lot of money. With a few mods you could be over the HP and Torque rating of that 5.4L with DOHC. Just my two cents...

 

I'd say it would be $$ wise to just drop in a new DOHC (32v Intech) than to try to replace the heads, intake, PCM (yes you'll need a new one) etc. etc.

I'm not sure what I read. Somehow I got out of it that you wanted to rebuild. And I wasn't even drinking!!

all you should need is the 32V intech engine and a new computer.
