I have an AIR/RAID intake and am going to install a gibson exhaust soon. ? Are shorty headers worth the pain to install. Also how hard is it to install spark plugs in a 97 expy with a 4.6, looks like a real pain.

 

If you plan on putting a supercharger on or bigger heads, headers should be considered. But if you are like most of us on this site with the FIPK,chip and catback, they are not going to do much and they are an expensive mod. But if you do buy headers go stainless and get the ceramic coating. Ceramic will reduce under hood temperatures and improves exhaust flow. Like all mods "headers" depends on what you want the truck to do and what you plan to get there.

 

headers will rob you of low end torque for a better top end. So, do you do more city or highway? If its mostly city, stay away from the headers.
