Loved the 2K3

Steve-

Before I saw the 2K3 Navi, I always preferred the Expy over the Navigator.

That 03 Gator has my full attention now.

If I get one (A year or so from now) It'll be the Navigator Premium, or Luxury- It won't be the Ultimate- I don't want the power running board option. Oh, the power boards are pimp-a-delic, but i like the running boards to be fully visible.

I loved the power folding mirrors, and the steering wheel mounted controls, not to mention the Navigation system and the hide-away controls.

I like the lowered stance, even the 4x4 is as low as the 4x2. I like the hunkered down, aggressive, fat-boy stance.

The grill truly sets it off.

I just dropped nearly 3 Large on my wheels, so I won't be donating them to the next owner of my truck, nor will I sell them on the street for 1/3 or what I paid. I'll just have to wait until 20's are too small for me.

Then get my Gator with some 22's or 24's!!!

i know it will grow on me...
i didnt like the new escalade style when it came out... now i think the old ones looks terrible...

im not sure if i want to trade mine in or not..
i have been looking for a new sports car or SUV.. i just cant decide...

if i get an SUV im getting the 03 Gator....
i agree the power running boards are somewhat pointless...

however i think 22's is as big as id go for some wheels...
maybe 23's but never 24's..

the roads i have to ride on to get to work, they would last a week....

I think 22's would be the biggest i would want to go with. How much would the rubber cost for 23's or 24's? I dont' want to think about it. I still like the look of just 20's.

Steven1642,

Maybe an email to Sylvania is in order.

I know that they make HID upgrade kits for the F150 / Expy, but I don't see a Navi one yet.

Drop them an email and ask is the only suggestion I can make, it might be already in the works, then again it might not ???

Just a thought.....

My old salesman called me 2 weeks ago to drive one..

Well the handling is better & the ergonomics are top notch in comparison to my 00..

However the tire pressure monitor option is on hold..

I wish they would have upped the HP w/the extra weight but I can say the vehicle had a solid feel. At least equal the Caddy on HP.. Maybe that will come in a year or so..

Even though most people will never use the 345 HP or the 275 HP available in the Escalade- Having the claim of "Most Powerful SUV on Earth" goes a long way towards influencing people who want the biggest (Even though the Escalade isn't), baddest, meanest, coolest, strongest, toughest- SOB, SUV on the road- Power will make a difference.

Ford does well with less power, and they have key claims like: best towing capacity, etc, etc. But- There's nothing wrong with a little HP war- Just put the HP in there, when you say it's there (Cobra fans remember).

Bump the Expy up to 300 and Bump the Navi up to 350, both in normally aspirated form- WE DON"T NEED NO STINKING SUPERCHARGERS!" If the General doesn't use 'em, we (Blue Oval Folks) don't need 'em either. I could take that whine in a one-off project of mine, or in a Lightning- But not in a luxury SUV...

That 5.4 will go to 350 HP, 375 lb. ft/torque, I'm certain of it. If they can squeeze 260 HP out of the 4.6 in the Mustang, 394 for the '03 Cobra- They can go 300 for the Expy 5.4 and 350 for the DOHC 5.4....

As Dennis Miller would say- "That's just my opinion. I could be wrong. I wanna know what you think America......"

Yep, I just bought an Escalade EXT. I was gonna get a Navi but I didnt want to wait for the next power upgrade. Supposedly, when rumors about the '03 Navi were starting everyone was saying 350hp. I deffinately would have gotten the Navi if they delivered on the power increase.

2-way tie to me---

That new Escalade is "tite", but I think the Navi is just a hair better, in my opinion. Worse case, a 2-way tie.

Where the Navi loses in power (Not really that big of a loss considering that only the 6.0L 4x4 EXT's have the 345 HP, the rest get the 285 HP version.) it more than makes up for it in interior ergonomics...

The Escalade is a great looking truck from the outside, that big Caddy badge on the rear makes a difference; but the interior of the Navi is light years ahead to me. The smooth lines & refinement almost made me think I was sitting in a high-end Japanese truck, rather than a Ford.

Power- Advantage GM
Looks- Tie: New Navi's aggressive "Fat-boy" s
tance looks great
Ergomomics- Advantage Ford
CreatureFeatures: Advantage Ford
Front Grill- Advantage Ford
Rear Treatment- Advantage GM
$$Upper-crut popularity: Advantage GM, for now...

Yeah, the Navi, hands down, has a cooler interior. But I've got a rare vehicle in the EXT. I've seen less then 4 others in as many months since Ive owned mine. I live in Nassau County, Long Island. The Navigator Mecca. Old bodystyle Navi's are all over the place! Not that thats such a bad thing, just a point for the EXT. I picked the Escalade when the new Navi wasnt even out, so I wasnt going to wait even longer for a bigger motor. Dont get me wrong, I love the new Naviagtors! In 3 years I hope to have enough cash on hand to trade the EXT for one. But I dont know, Cadillac's are growing on me. Check the new last line in the signature.
