Brake Pads

Just put a set of Raybestos "Quiet Stop" ceramic pads on my wife's Explorer along with a set of Mich Cross Terrains. BIG difference in handling from the tires, but was interested in some feedback from others who are using ceramics on their Expy's (or what they're happy with).

Will probably do my Expy in 2 weeks with the same brake pads. Can't find ceramics for the rear so will suck up with semi metallics. Front creamics are $70.

Also what size Cross terrains are you guys running. I have 255 X 70 X16 and want to go a 17 X 65/60 or an 18" rim (Lightning preferably) but tire man sez the ride will suck.

Whadda Ya think?

FWIW, three weeks ago I put Wagner pads on the front of my Expy and so far so good. With stock pads, there was an unbeievable amount of dust, but with the Wagners the dust is virtually nonexistent and the feel is great. At $55, these pads were by no means the cheapest, but are less than the ceramics you mention......not that a few bucks should matter when talking about brakes.
