I'd just take the whole throttle body off and give it a good cleaning. You probably won't notice any difference in performance, but if you do it right, it can't hurt.

did it

i spoke with a mechanic friend he stated to take off the snorkle
and leave engine off and spray a good throttle body/carb cleaner in and if it was really coated to use a old tooth brush to remove tough spots. i sprayed it and everything disapeared he told me to start engine and it would start hard then rev it up and let idle the engine would suck all the crap thru and burn it up

it worked like a charm it idles better now too no stumbles or loping

I thought Ford TB's had a special coating that required only specific product?

According to Ford service manuals, the TB does have some sort of special coating and should not be cleaned, only replaced....yeah right!!! I cleaned mine several months ago and it runs so much better now.
