Had a Gibson before I got the K&N. It looked really good. If however you have a '01 or newer Expy, it may be difficult to get it to not look like a add on with the silencer that they added in '01.

I saw one with a tip added the other day. Not good! It looked like they bolted a tip on. Just stuck out like a sore thumb.

Yeah I agree some of them look pretty bad. The Gibson I had however was ten inches long with the "clamp" built in. You could not see how it was attached. My exhaust that I have now doesn't make the transition from polished tip to tailpipe as nice.

I have a tip on my 99 Expy... email if you want a picture... Anyway it's a Hooker tip with a slash cut end and integrated clamp. Like the above poster - mine is about 10-12 inches long so from normal views (other cars and walking around) you can't see that it's a tip. I've had a few guys at Mustang shows in the past aske what kind of system it was (this truck was used as a tow vehicle for a while).... when it was just a tip. I've had one on since new. The first one died after about 2 years of use and now I have another one on there. The original one looked better in my opinion - only because I had a 3" tip the first time and this time I went with the 3.5" tip (they were out of the 3" tip at the time). But I think it looks great - especially since the factory pipe runs up at the angle so you can't see the other end of it. I bought it from Jeg's when I was there.... www.jegs.com

If you want a pic email me and I'll send you one.

Later
Fred

The 3" one was.... #520-22203 Slash cut 2.5" to 3" - I can send you a picture Wednesday night - too dark now to go out and take one... and I have the 3.5" on there now... so it will look a little more tonned down.

Send me an email to remind me.... fastfreddyfour@ameritech.net

Petrol,

Was that a polished tip or a chrome tip that added the horsepower .

Fastfreddy,

Could you also send me a pic of the exhaust tip. I've never liked the factory tip on my Navigator. Send it to areamer@tarr-inc.com.

Talking

Go to Meineke and have them cut off part of your exhaust and weld on a chrome tip.It looks good when finished. I got the idea from my buddy in South Carolina. It is better looking than a short clamp on tip.
