When I open my drivers side door, my dome light (and running lights) go out for a few seconds and depending on how far the door is open, may or may not stay on at all even with door wide open. I am looking for an adjustment, any help appreciated. 98 expy 4x4 xlt. upstate ny - dsbprod61

Check your owners manual. If I'm not mistaken, you can adjust that. I could be wrong. Seems like mine stay on for 30 seconds. On some years, (maybe 2000 and back) some of those things are not "user" adjustable; the dealer has to do it.

 

You probably have a dirty door light switch. The switch is part of the latch assembly. Find some type of spray cleaner that won't damage paint and spray the door latch assembly. Then, open and close the door several times and see if it makes a difference.
