I have 255/70-16 on my expy's 16x7 rim. I am scheduling a time later today to get new tires. What's the next best size without having to lift? My Expedition is a 2000 4x4 XLT.

I was thinking 265/70, 265/75 or 285/75 (not recommended by BFG).

I've got 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's on my '00 4x4 Expy. They look, ride and feel great. I've owned nearly every major brand of tires and have to say these Bridgestones and past Michelins are the best.

As for the size, you won't have any trouble with the 285's except they buldge just a wee bit from the 7" rims. No big deal though.

Find a shop who will mount a couple sizes and brands then make a determination. I know Discount Tires gives a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on all tires they sell.
