DECISIONS DECISIONS
I was trying to get an answer but I guess not! SOOOOOOO I went to Dodge website and came across their new HEMI 5.7L V8 on the RAM2500. That bad boy is shooting out 345HP and 375lb/ft of torque whereas the F250 V10 is givingonly 310HP but takes it at 425lb/ft torque.
Also the RAM2500 is a 5-speed Manual Transmission and the F-250 has a 6 speed Manual with Overdrive. What's the benefit having the 6th gear?? Also, is their an advantage having a V10 over a V8? I'm just thinking V10 = more gas.
I'm gonna get a 4x4 LongBed this summer so I'm just waiting to see if the 04F-250 is gonna change in style. If not...I'm ready noW!
This will have the FOR SALE sign on it soon:

Rumors have the '05 or '06 SD being redesigned, since the 150 gets a facelift next year. Things can change at any time though. The DOdGe hemi? The story is hi-test gasoline, plus hi RPMs to make power. All this, plus it's wrapped up in one fugly excuse for a truck. The V-10s make lots of smooth pulling power and have quite a bit of get up and go. The new 3 valve 5.4 and 6.8 will make more horsepower too.

The current Triton V10 makes 400lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpms and it's peak of 425 @ 3250 rpms.
The "HEMI" needs to wind way up to 4000+ rpms just to make it's peak of 375lb-ft. At 2000 rpms it's down around 300lb-ft.
It's almost comical, but Ford's V10 makes about the same amount of torque (360lb-ft) at it's 1000rpm idle speed as the "HEMI" makes for it's peak torque output of 375lb-ft at over 4000rpms!!
I think one of the recent Truck Trend magazines mentioned the Superduty series will get a complete inside/outside facelift for 2005 but the new 5.4 and 6.8 engines may be available in their upgraded form for 2004. I hope they leave the suspension and axles the same. I hate to see Ford start screwing around with IFS etc.

WWBF150-I agree with you...The Dodge Hemi(Well not really a Hemi, But a modified Hemi shaped design)actually the Ford Hemi was closer then this..At least our plug was centrally located...This engine is not going to last, too high emissions, poor low end power, too high octane fuel reqirements...ETC. Its good that the other US manufacturer is making mistakes as well as Chevy...

Mach1, the "new" DOdGe Hemi has TWO spark plugs per cylinder. I'm not too sure about aluminum heads though. If it has them, it could be twice as much "fun" keeping the plugs in there. That being said, I've got an acquaintance that has had a 1/2 ton 4x4 Quad Cab DOdGe coming. It is the ONLY Hemi powered 1/2 ton that the local dealership has sold/ordered since they were released. Doesn't seem to be too popular here.
Ahh, yes, the old 429 Ford and 426 Mopar! Shades of the old days. I went to the Woodward Dream Cruise this past August and I got to see the SVT Mustang built to kick the butt off of a big block GM car. The SVT Boss Mustang was built by John Coletti, the head of Ford's SVT program. IIRC, the red Boss Mustang has a 570+ cu. in. hemi engine, plus a few other nice extras. It started life as a "lowly" 429.

Yea, I know about the two plugs...This was one reason why I stated a modified Hemi..Its one of those Japanese hemi's..Two plugs and a 'division of the CC', the CC edges are modified as well cut into the Hemi...The original hemi's had one centrally located plug...
Coletti is the man, and has done a lot for the SVT program...Its about time we get the blowers on every gasser..and finally a Mustang that beats the Vett...
You heard they are going to do a Mach 1 Mustang???
tHAT 429 bOSS OR sUPER cOBRA-jET WERE AWESOME!!!

2005 F-250
Word from Ford is that they are currently in negotiations with Launch and Design teams for the new model change to take place in 2005. The original launch was set for the 2004 year, but they delayed it due to the F-150 getting a face lift.
I work for a Tier 1 supplier that is going to build a plant for the new model change for the F-250. We are going to manufacture the hard interior for the Super Cab, Super Crew and Excursion (currently build the DVD Console for Excursion, unless they discontinue the Excursion)
But I keep also hearing that Ford could possibly delay the 2005 model change to 2006. Who knows?
Also keep this in mind, the new Harley Davidson will be released in 2005 as an F-250 Super Duty Model!!!!
