Mixed, average, different people, different results...I even thought about the truck some more...I believe you can get the 4.88's in there, the diff ratio has alot to do with it...Of course the higher number rear end ratio the worst mileage..Some people can get 15-16...others 9-10...I would have to have more input to narrow it down for you...I get 20mpg w/propane on 22+...3.73 and alot of highway mileage..others 16mpg in town lead footing it...

Fact-if regular good maint, easy footen, lower number rear gears, city-mixed driving, 14-16 maybe...I have heard of the 4.10's doing this...

Thumbs up

Hey guy's, whats up?
I'm runnin a 00' F350 CCLB DRW with 3:73 gears and no mods and I'm gettin 14.8 to 15.6 city and 17 to 20 highway. Others I know towing big 5th wheel trailers towin to Florida tell me there getting around 10 to 12 mpg hauling about 15,000 to 16,000 lb worth of trailer and 4:10 gears with stock motors.
ALL HAIL THE POWER STROKE

So, are you saying that your truck rocks, or that you like it, or what???

He was talking about a 450..And it may have some step gears...If not then you are dead on...

Mach1, Are you familiar with the mileage calculator in the overhead console i was able to test drive the 99.5 psd the other day and just happened to punch the buttons and it read 12.7mpg of course i do not know how it was driven to get this. Can this be reset at each fillup or is it just a continious average? No i have not pulled the trigger yet i am waiting to see if i can get the dealer oasis report first but the truck is veary clean in and out and the motor is real quiet. I have a bit more posted in the general section under (test drive complete) at the other diesel site if you wanted to maybe reply there.

Thanks

KT, you are doing your homework--excellent!!!, bewarwarned, 99.5 is first year, If the T/C is noisy, you will have to do one...I do them with a performance T/C for $900 out the door..Brake recalls, something else...theres alot of deals here as well, I believe you can reset the trip computer, I dont have one, the owners manual will help you there..Yes you can clear it..usually at the buttons..They are not that acurate, please dont base your decision on this..With chips installed it wacks them out big time..I will ck the other site later..Good luck..Did you talk to Cochise?? He is one of the best...In Houston..
