Is that thing quiet??? yes the fuel will go up until about 10000 and then it plateaus...You are supposed to get 8% better then the 7.3...I get 20mpg...but that is 90% highway...plus its tuned to the max...regularly I can get 18+ w/o propane, with the chip from hell...But I can get 16mpg if I ride the fuel pedal...Here again 90% highway..

I stayed even with a early 90's Camaro auto..I dont think that was too bad..Dont even race the V6 Late model Camaro's...No Fun!!!

My father-in-law has a 02' 7.3L and yes, the 6.0 is a bit quieter when warmed up. He also has the Micro Tuner set at 'tow safe' and he said my truck is quicker. Sure in stock, but with the tuner I disagree. When we had his set to 'Performance' it was incredible!

For all you farming illiterates out there, Swofford is saying that his grandfather tows cattle IN A TRAILER behind his 5.4L SD. If this was an attempt at being funny, I aplogize. If not, think before you type next time.

Bikenut--the question I have about the 6L is how far can it go??? How much can it put out...I know the limitations of the 7.3..I know the 6L is slower then mine, I want to know if the mods were equivalent, could the 6L make this much power...The 7.3 is detuned, the 6L is a little more 'high strung' from the factory..

Although the diesel costs more, wouldn't you recover most of the difference on resale? Which would be worth more 3 or 4 years from now? If gas prices keep climbing the way they are, you may as well enjoy the diesel power, and get more for it later.

You walk up to a 6,000 pound bull, try to get a rope around its neck, tie it off to your bumper before it gores you and survive to get in your truck and turn it into hamburger. THERE IS SPORT IN IT!

I got the Tundra sold. Guy is picking it up next weekend.

I am sad to see it go, but it is just too small.

I have about a week to hammer this out on the engine options. I am gonna drive the V-10 and diesel back to back. I am also gonna scout out all of the diesel gas stations in my area. With gas prices now, I am very strongly leaning towards diesel.

I am also gonna shop every dealer in a 50 mile radius.

Cool

Seacrow, did you grab that file that I had posted on the first page. It will help you decide if the diesel is a more viable option for you depending how long you keep the truck. I you are someone that like to changes vehicles in 3 - 5 years than the diesel will not pay for itself depending upon how many miles you put on it in a year. BUT you may get your money back with the resale value like stated before. Download it, Scan it for Virus' (best to be safe) and input your information and see how long it would take to make the diesel's extra cost balance with the fuel savings over the V10.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'
