Might have a little gig coming up with the King Ranch Ford Truck Owners Club here in Louisville and hoped that someone could pull some strings to get us a tour of either the Explorer or SD plant.

Yikes..... 5?
You take I 71 in?
I'm thinking about taking 146 all the way down to Oxmoor there (I work on Shelbyville Road near Trinity HS) so, that looks like a valid route. Only bad thing is all the stop signs and I'm not sure about the traffic...
Any input? I'll probably be leaving each morning around 710am.

yeah I take 71 into the Watterson - I leave around 7am. Once my kids are out of school, I will be leaving at 6:30am. I can get into work in about 30 minutes. I very very rarely have any problems getting into work.
The backups usually occur on my drive home: The off ramp to Brownsboro road is sometimes backed up down onto the Watterson north bound. Then traffic is sometimes backed up at the exit ramp to the Gene Snyder south bound due to traffic getting of Brownsboro again.
Going through Crestwood may give you some tie ups - and then going pass the mall - which you will have either way you come in. But I would recommend taking 71.
When will you be in your new house?

Thanks for the tips there. We'll be in the house in mid-August as our close date is set for Aug 15...
What time are you typically rolling home? I've kicked around a couple of options there...
either coming in a little early and leaving a little early or vice-versa so that I can dodge peak times.

yeah that is why I try to get in early so I can leave early. The worst time to go through the watterson/I-71 to Gene Snyder is between 5pm-6pm. I am ususally going through around 4pm and there is sometimes a little back up. If there is an accident on 71 north before the Gene Snyder, I try to get off of Brownsboro road (depending on traffic) and go up 42 to 841 then down to 71. Listen to am 840 or 970 and they usually do pretty good about giving that kind of info - but not always. If it is a huge backup, I try to shoot down 64 to Gene Snyder north to 71 or up LaGrange road from the mall. So there are a few options.

Well not only that, but the highway out in Oldham and Henry Counties are like driving on 5 grit sandpaper. I have to turn my stereo up just to drown out the road noise. lol, if Oldham is suppose to be the nices county in the state, why don't they re-surface the damn road already. They keep fixing pot holes and crap like that. kdot repaired the roads from Tremble county up to Florance, but left Oldham and Henry in the bad shape it is. I know I pay enough in land tax that we should be driving on gold - 5 acres and I paid $1800 last year .
