Cool Kentucky - Home of the Super Duty & Excursion - Pics

As promised, I ran by the Kentucky Truck Plant and grabbed a few photos so that you all can see where your trucks are manufactured. I didn't have an all access pass as you would expect but, I did snap a few pics for you to enjoy.

Entrance to the Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP)

Front Office Building (Where the SD & Excursion sit HIGH IN THE SKY!)

Painting Facilities

- This is just a VERY SMALL portion of the plant. The plant is about 3/4 mile long (if not more) and sits probably a half mile deep. It's huge. Very big.

....more on next post....

Super Duty Sea... SD's as far as you can see. All of these are awaiting transport via rail or truck to a stealership near you.

The Kentucky Truck Engineering Prooveout Facility located adjacent to the KTP. Notice the 8-pack of 2004's F-150's sitting out front. One of them is muddy. Hrrm. Makes you wonder.

As close up as I could get with my Sony Digital Camera from the fence line to one of the 2004's. Can't tell much but, it's definately a 2004!

I hope you all have enjoyed these. Feel free to post comments!

Hahaha... thanks man. I was drooling the entire time I was there. There are probably still puddles around out on the ground that gives the place the apperance of rain. LOL!

Not exactly sure but, I assure you that there are a BUNCH.

Ford has a huge hold here in Louisville with the Explorer/Sport Trac plant and also the Super Duty plant...

Not to mention the countless other industries that supply Ford (aka: Lear (interiors), etc.)

Nice pics RP!!!

the front rim on that extended cab is looking kinda dirty.....i hope that isnt a sign of excessive brake dust on the new F150's just like the newer expy's have been having.

Unfortunately, plant tours aren't available at either of the Kentucky facilities (SD/Excursion or Explorer/SportTrac). Sorry man.
