Removing stock radio

How do you remove the stock radio from a SD 250? I was looking at the dash, & it appears that you have to take the entire section from the light controls, all the way to the radio....is this correct? I couldn't find a good link using the search function....thanks!

*I wasn't sure if I should post this in the 250, or audio forum.....so moderators, please move if it's not in the right forum*

Look on each side (right and left) of the radio. You will see two holes (above and below each other). Insert a nails into each hole, or use a special horse shoe shape tool that you can get most anywhere (specifically made for the ford radios). Insert the nails/tool into the holes until you feel resistance or a snap. This will free the radio to come out. You may need to wiggle it around, but that is how you get the stock radio out.

You can also make you a nice little radio removel tool out of a metal coat hanger. Just cut one in half and bend them into a U shape. You might want to put some tape on the cut ends to keep form accidently scratching your dash or radio.

I have done a few, I think the 16 peeny nails work the best, most everything bends too easy...Also the bezel removes if you need to snake wires/cables over from the dash...Good Luck...
