I am looking to traid my 01 expy for a excursion with a 6.0. My question is why is the towing cap the same on these two eng? and what would my best bet be.. i do allot of driving on the hwy and also tow a boat. i am not needing to traid my expy in but i would like the excursion due to the diesl (sp) even thgouh the back seat in those things have no loeg room.. any advice would be great..

I'm not sure where your info is coming from but an Excursion with the diesel is rated for an 11,000lb trailer. Excursion with the 5.4L is rated for 6,200lbs. The Expedition with the 5.4L is rated for 8650lbs.
