Superchip 60h.p. gain

Digging through a shelf at work. I found a Superchips chip for a 99 F350 Powerstroke. I ordered it for a friend and we never installed it. Its still new in the box. Anyone interested in it. ?
Will let it go cheap. Im not sure what its worth, but i paid $400 for it. Hows about 1/2 price. $200.

I would assume so since he indicates it is for a '99 Powerstroke.

It is for a 7.3.
But different years may have a different "code tag"?????
Worse case, it could be reburnt?
Call them to confirm.

Good points, the PCM code is what you need to know 4-digits...they can be reburned, but at what expense???

The cost of a reburn is $125

The scarey part is that i called superchips to try to confirm this code with the code on the chip. I was told, just make sure its for a 99 powerstroke. (Basically he did not want to give me my answer, obviously there is money in it for a reburn)

I will try again with someone else at another time.

In the meantime, i sold the chip, and of course it did not work. Unfortunately the buyer is mad at me, (of course i refunded his money) The chip should be on the way back. and ill start over again.

Ill post the code when i get it as to not have this happen again.

Vince

Sorry again to the original buyer.

Hi Vince,

Each Superchip *must* be programmed to exactly match the exact PCM software revision (which we call a "computer code") in each individual vehicle, as there can be hundreds of different codes each model year alone. There is no such thing as one Superchip program that can be used on all 1999 models, for example.

We can take care of reprogramming that chip for you if you like, or for it's next owner, just give us a quick call if you want to have this done.

I don't know where you got your Superchip originally when you bought it new, but if it came from us here at Performance Products Inc., the second owner gets some additional benefits from us that help the original owner to sell it when the time comes, so you'll want to call us about that. Again, that is applicable *ONLY* if it was purchased directly from us here at Performance originally.

Just so you'll know, that chip can be reprogrammed to work in any 1994.5-2003 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine, whether it's in an F-250, F-250, a van, etc.

The way to locate the computer code in the 1999 & up SuperDuty trucks with the PSD is to open the driver's door, then look in the front part of the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges, and there you should find a small sticker that has 3 letters followed by 1 number on it (LAW4, AWA5, DAH4, FDA2, etc.), in that same format.

Hope this info helps & good luck!

Mike, those barcodes are usually gone on the trucks on the doors, so you can check on the PCM itself as well...

Well,
Its the 22, and still no returned chip.
Looks like im the one that is going to get burned this time.
Last i heard, (although paypal confirmed the returned money on July 1st) was:

("Vince, Sorry about that , I left for vacation and asked the shop manager to ship your chip back and when I returned it was still on top of my tool box. I will get it out tomorrow morning" . )

This was sent to me on July 18.

Its not like the $215 is going to change my life, but its very disappointing that there are people out there like this.

I will identify him soon. Im trying to be nice here and give him the benifit of the doubt.

Be careful out there.

I received a tracking number today.
He said he is not on the net much. (although im sure he checked to see if he received a refund on July 1).
Anyway, im not one to really bash someone. In all fairness, i did sell him the wrong chip.
I know, im too nice. Its not worth wasting space.

A tracking number means nothing. I can generate a tracking number for you right now. Now if you check on the tracking number and it says that it's in transit, thats good. But if it just says billing order processed or something like that (I cant recall the exact wording right now), well then the package has not gone out, its just been set up.
