Tire size?

Hi Guys

I am new the this board, but do visit often. My question is can i put 285-75-16s on my 2002 f250 without any mods? will they fit without rubbing? I placed order with Tire Rack for 285s but they called back and didnt think it would work. What do you guys think? Also are the stock whees 8 by 16 or 7 by 16? Thanks Dennis

stock wheels 16x7 - don't know about your tire size - if they will rub.

Yes they will fit. I'm running Bridgestone Dueler A/T's without a problem. Just make sure to keep the pressure down since the tire has a greater volume to reduce center wear.

I'm assuming you have a 4x4 of course.

You can go to 295 stock without rubbing. From there you need to start looking at lifts from 2" on up. Of course the service manager may have something to say. Remember you want to play you may have to pay.
Enjoy your truck

Well - you already have your answer, but I will agree that you can fit 285/75/16s on your '02 w/stock rims and not require any trimming to keep from rubbing. That's what I did.

F250 FX4

I have a 03 250FX4 and I just put 315 (35s) on a stock rims and without a lift. I have a friend that owns a 4 wheel parts store and he does it all the time and has never had problems. It looks real good too and barely rubs when I turn it all the way.

Roggi, 38"s wont fit without a lift, I would't do 35" without a lift...I dont like rubbage..one good bounch off road might cost you dearly...and then there is the rub at full lock...Good Luck...

seems to be discrepency on the max tire size.
So full lock no rub...you can put 295's on?
Has the a 20" wheel option been explored?

305's

I just put 305's on my 350 and there is still a bit of room at full turn...I think I could get 315's to fit maybe. I had a lot of people tell me it wouldn't work, but I did it anyway. I have 140,000 miles on my rig, so it has some sag, and I get no rub...Looks better now too!

I have 285/75/16s on my truck, and in a complete bind with the wheels turned all the way they don't rub, not even close, another 2 or maybe 3 inches from the frame.
