air bag lift
alright all here is the question of the week. I have an 03 lightning and am looking at buying an 03 or 04 250 6.0. Here is the question, i am a paraplegic and getting in and out of the 250 would be pain in the a!@. however, i have seen tons of rock crawlers now using air bags and i was thinking about doing that just to lower it so i can get in and raise back up. talked toa couple shops that said they have bags that lift 4000-5000 lbs a piece which would work great. anybody know of any kits like skylift or something like that already made, jsut bolt ons and some welding which is not a big deal. thanks all. you can email me at audiobahn40@hotmail.com

I have heard of this done, but don't know where to point you. I think I've seen an install on Trucks/Hotrod tv a few years ago of an air suspension on a 4wd, but that's about all I remember about it.
The only other thing I can think of would be the so called "ghetto-cruisers", but I'm not sure if they use air or fluid hydraulics to contort those things.
Sorry we're not much help. Good luck on your search.

Matt,
I just happened across a post on www.thedieselstop.com, and thought of your post. Here is a company that may have what you are looking for:

Another idea would be to check with any local shops that specialize in van conversions, etc. for those with disabilities. I know of at least a couple of places here locally that do stuff like that as their core business, so I would imagine there is someone where you are too.
Good luck with it!
