Back in May when I was negotiating ordering a new Superduty, I found a dealer that would go $500 below invoice and I get to keep the rebates. This was on a gas powered truck. No haggling at all.

I just looked at some 03 F250's and the one I wanted was 38k, but they didn't have the color I wanted. They had 04's on the lot already, but they don't come in my color for 04, plus there aren't significant changes in the 250's to justify the cost - to me anyway. The salesperson looked in his PC and found a couple at other dealers in my color.
I asked about price because I am sure he would rather sell what's on his lot, and he goes "lets see you said you were used to payig $100 above invoice, (I had mentioned it on the phone before I got there) . . . so I can get you that for 35,7. That's pretty good, you're getting a 40k truck for about 35."
Then I mentioned he had said something about a Ford Loyalty rebate, and he imediately took off another grand. So for not much haggling, I was offered (with no deposit mind you, and no "I gotta check this with my boss" stuff) 34,7 on a F250 XLT 4X4 with FX4 package bunches of other stuff I wanted.
and guess what? I am still shopping around! 34,7 is still close to 35k and I want to see that the sticker really does say 40k on it, (When I built one online, it was about 40k, but remember they don't actually have this truck, so I haven't seen it) then I want to knock off another grand. If it all checks out, I will be cool with paying closer to 33k.

Let's see what the 18% somebody mentioned does:
38k x 18% = 6840 so 38,000 - 6840 = 31,160
40k x 18% = 7200 so 40,000 - 7200 = 32,800

18% sounds good....but I'm surprised that your ready to jump in given the recent threads about the ongoing 03 6.0L idle and surge/stall issues? All this talk about the 04 engines being updated after Sept means your truly is back in a holding pattern....dang it!
