It's 29 gallons on the short bed, 38 gallons on the long bed.

Hi

Yes, 29g. tank. Current mileage on my 6L is 2800mi. getting: 17.68mpg Fway...14mpg. city...11 1/2mpg. towing.

I'm hoping for more when engine is more broken in? Some get more/some less mpg. All the variables.

Good luck...OT

btw..i havent tried it, but some say it will take more fuel.

I currently have under 1000 miles and am getting 21mpg highway, 15 city, and 11 towing. It seems like I am getting worse after the motor is breaking in. I hope that it is just an anomoly.

I hear that the mileage will get better as I approach 2-5K.

Is there a special way to determine exact gas milege? im guesssing since I have a 29 gallon tank i would divide 29 into whaever im getting per tank? What should i be getting per tank on a 29 gallon?

Figuring gas mileage is just an estimate, there are too many variables. If you track it over a period you should get a good idea of what to expect. I have a gasser my high is about 18 and low is about 11, but my average is about 15. All doing similar driving. Like I said TOO many variables to figure you exact mileage.

Hi L

Not sure your asking this? but I just figure mpg. like i've always done. Fill tank until first shut off, then one more time till it clicks off. Then divide gal. into mi.

Just remember how ever you fill the tank, do it same way each time you fill up.

You just have to reason thru all the reports on mpg..as you can see they vary. But an indication of what one might expect to get.

Good luck...OT

Hi L

Just passing on what ive read...so far i have not used a high flow pump at truck stop. Its been said those can cause fuel to splash out of tank if you have it set on high? If you use one, try low setting or experiment

So far ive used just the d. pumps at the car island, but even then i fill up on low setting..maynot have to do that, just way i do.

On the 7.3's the maximum fuel economy was not recieved until about 30000 miles, this is when COMPLETE break-in occured...

21 mpg is pretty good...I got 19+ on a stocker...

I was thinking those smaller displacement, higher tech engines would have gotten more...I guess after they tune them some more and work all the bugs out, they will start pushing the fuel economy deal...

A little constructive criticism. Diesel's don't get gas mileage.lol Fuel consumption, or fuel mileage.

I tell this to my customer's all the time. Next time you go to the pump and you have someone else fill it, and the word gas is used.............................................. ...

Anyway, just having some fun. A friend is getting 21 mpg on the hwy.

Good luck with all your new trucks. I'm waiting until winter to buy.

Mike
