Max torque rating--easy one...

This is where (RPM) the engine produces the most quanity of torque at...

Now lets explain torque, It is the turning(twisting action) that the engine develops, this translates into how powerful the engine is..

How fast the truck is...How easy it is to spin the tires...how easily it climbs the hill...The higher the torque rating the more powerful the engine...

So what you want is the Max torque rating down in the RPM range...so you can have your best power down low...

Also, and probably alot of people dont understand this, or believe this is...At max torque is usually where the best fuel economy is...

So you can use this figure to determine where your best fuel economy at what speed is...

Heres another one...Get this, the 04 5.4 gets 90% of its max torque at 1000rpm...So simply put...max torque is 365ft lbs..??...90% of that figure is developed at 1000RPM...OR Right off idle...So you have a load of power down low!!!!!

So you have like 300ft lbs torque when you start to step on the pedal...IT GETS ITS POWER DOWN LOW!@!!

Sorry for the long, drawn out explanation...Amazing...
