Trading to F250 CC v10

My first post but been lurking for quite a while.

My appologies if I am in the wrong forum.

I am in the process of trading my F150 7700 for a 2003 new F250 CC v10. I was told today that the 250 does not come with the hitch receiver. Is this true? Both F150's I have owned came with the receiver which was included with the towing package. This may be my stopping point since the sales guy wants 250 to install a calss IV receiver and 65 to uninstall my 5th wheel hitch.

I am also upgrading my camper but will be towing a TT instead of the 5er.

Many thanks for your help.

My 98 F-150 does not have the tow package, so did not come with a receiver hitch. I had to buy one and put it on. I'm just making a guess, but I think that the F-250 you are looking at just does nto have the tow package, I have seen F-250s and F-350s that did not have it. If I were Ford, I would not even make it an option, and just make it standard that super dutys have the tow package, but they can do whatever they want. Hopefully someone else will come along with some more info.

When I ordered my '00 F-250 SD the trailer towing package DID NOT include the hitch. The hitch was an extra cost option above the TT package.

Mockingbird,

I bought mine used, but as far as I know all Superduties are sold with the "ready to tow" idea. That to me entails that the reciever is already on there. I looked real quick on the Ford website and didn't see anything to say otherwise.

I keep seeing posts about a "tow package" for Superduties. The '03 & '04 SDs do not have a "tow package" listed as an option.

The tow hitch is listed as a lone option for both of these years but there's not a formal tow package.

The 7/4 pin trailer plug and trailer-brake wire harness are standard as well as transmission cooler. You get a transmission temp gauge standard with automatics.

The telescoping trailer mirrors are also a seperate option as well as various rear axle gears.
