01 F250 Supercab 4X4 7.3 - I get 20mpg on interstates if I keep rpms below 2000. That means running about 68-70mph. Around town I get about 15-16 mpg. I am running 295/75/16 BFG ATs and Superchip tuner set at 60hp.

It depends on your driving habits, type of truck and how much city/highway driving...Did I mention tuning???..

I can get 19+...More with propane(although you have to factor Pane in there somewhere)..

I regularly talk to a man that has 3.08 gears in his...right at 25 mpg...and he/I am looking at getting him 27mpg..That is the target...27 mpg..

On the 7.3 you can double the output of the engine and still not lose mileage, IF IT IS TUNED CORRECTLY!!!! And you stay out of it..

I drive mostly highway 35 miles each way, I stay at or under 65mph....

So the number one way to increase HIGHWAY mileage is a overdrive unit/gears...

mileage

I have a 00 250 CC 4wd, 7.3, with 4 in lift and 35" mudders. I recently got about 12 mpg on trip. I stayed around 70-75. Any suggestions for add-ons to increase the mpg. I usually only get about 15 mpg going back and forth to work and around town. How/Can I bring these up?

1999 7.3

I have 1999 7.3 4X4 Crew Cab 100+K have gotten 18 consistantly since new stock 265/75/16. Don't go to the city much so no idea. Don't care when towing because you can't beat the power. Mike T. replyed to me in Superships to a question and told me I could get "several" MPG by installing the tuner so I plan to try that. I like the Tuner in my 2002 Screw so far. Installed it yesterday. Can't say about increased MPG yet. Jon

You wont get any additional MPG from a tuner...or a chip for that matter...

I had to follow my stepbrother from Valdosta to Tampa in my 03 6.0 CC FX4. He was driving a 67 Volkswagen. We went about 60 the whole time. My truck got about 27mpg at 60mph.

If I stay between 70-75, I will get around 21mpg.

Around town I get 15.5. I am happy with it.

Smile gas mileage

About 7 days ago I traded in my 97 f150 2wd 4.6L for a 2000 f350 7.3L turbo diesel. This truck is extended cab, long bed, and 4X4 and I have gotten as good as 20 and as bad as 10 by stomping on the pedal a lot. it all depends on how you drive the beast. I love this truck and suprisingly there are ways to make them outrun a lot of cars today. Test drive one and you will be hooked.

You actually can get 1 to 2, perhaps even 3 extra MPGs with some of the custom tuned SCTs, as a result of increased timing at lower RPMs.
