What did you pay for your Diesel? 6.0 questions.

I HATE my 150, lack of power, horrible millage. I'm getting 10MPG towing, so mine as well get better with more power. What are you 4x2 extended cab 6.0 guys getting on your MPG? I tow to much to have that little power on my 150, and I'm just ready for a bigger truck. 150 was a nice start, but I LOVE the 250's. Im going to step up to a 250 Extended Cab 6.0 4x2 within a few months, probably larait, or XLT. I know the owner of a dealer, and I'm sure i can get it for invoice, but I'm wondering how much I'm looking at spending. Also what exhaust/intake/ aftermarket stuff do you add to your diesel's? Banks packages? Thanks.

Hi Sdf

Ck. out www.thedieselstop.com lots of info. mpg. etc. Look for updates here.....so....

As as example on my 03 6L, engine not really broken in at 5Kmi.
My truck wt. is 7400#. Best solo 17.68 mpg @65/70mph. Around town avg. 13 mpg. This is a 4X4. 4X2 should be better?

Towing GCWR 15K...11 1/2 @ 60 mph. Perhaps my overall mpg will get better later? Some do/some don't.

As a comparison to my 99 4.6L. w/mods...same load and TT 10 1/2 mpg....best solo 17 mpg @ 65 13/14 around town. Not a big differnt in mpg, fuel cost yes/no, of course the obvious is..6L

D. fuel was less here this past summer. Now just the opposite in winter time. Not sure yet, but #2 winter blend may cause mpg. drop?

Take your time, think it through. Pros/cons..if dosent matter, then just get an 04/04 PSD...around 40K +/-

Good luck...OT

btw...look to others for mods. No more for me. I dont need them.

I am selling my 01 supercrew and just bought an 04 F-250 lariat 4x4. My screw had good power with the 5.4 but still screamed towing a load up the mountains. Also my 5.4 got about a 13 mpg average without towing. The new rig has 600 miles and is climbing from a start of 11.2 mpg in town to 15.3 in town now and that is for the entire 600 miles. Looking good and the torque on the 6.0 is incredible. As for cost I bought it for about $8000 under the sticker. Sticker was $45700 so it was loaded. I like the truck and am getting used to the diesel and turning radius. Good luck.

Go build one on ford.com. If you use a Utah or California zip it will also display invoice. I beleive 84317 zip is what I've tried before. Otherwise go for an eay one, 90210

I traded my '99 F-150 RegCab XLT, 5.4L, 4x4 for an '03 F-250 CrewCab Lariat, 6.0L, 4x4. MSRP was $44,140. I paid $34,360 after rebates ($4250). It was a leftover '03. I only have 1500 miles and I haven't towed yet. So far I've gotten 16.5 mpg. I think that will improve after the engine breaks in with more miles. I normally got 15.0 mpg with the F-150 under similar driving conditions.

I just priced out a loaded super cab f350 psd 4x4 with every option you can think of short of ajustable pedals and it came to 45k msrp, I priced it through a Military sales program, and I can get it for 37k. I thought that was sweet, but apearently people are doing the same or better? What do you guys think?
