I think my 1/2 ton is out, and 1 ton is in.....

I have my eye on a 2002 F-350 Lariat, 4x4, Crew Cab, short bed powerstroke diesel with 59K miles. My truck is a 2001 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 with 39K miles.

I have longed for a diesel, and since Ford canned the idea of putting a V-6 diesel in the half tons, it looks as though this is they way I am going.

They Superduty is going to cost me $29K. I currently owe $14K on my supercrew, and they are going to give me $19,800 for my trade, which is about $1200 above KBB trade in value. This deal might be done on Monday.

Looks like my new site just might be thedieselstop.com!

I will let you know what I decide.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Look on the door jamb sticker, there you will find all kinds of info. The codes for your gearing will be the seventh from the left and be one of these. I included a bunch of other that obviously you won't have but figured what the hell. More than likely it's going to be the 4.10's.

Mach 1,

You are correct sir! It is a 3.73 rear, I just found the window sticker in the owners manual. It confirms that....3.73 Limited Slip is indeed my gear ratio!

Rockycarl,

congrats on your SD. Now let's just hope diesel fuel prices don't get up as high as regular gas.
