What would you pay for this???
I saw a 2001 F350 Powestroke, Lariat for sale today. It's in perfect condition and only has 15,000 miles. I guess it belonged to an older couple, the fella died and the wife traded it in. It has a Rino liner, but other than that it's a stock Lariat.
They are asking $33K and some change. What would you pay?

Since I don't know all the equipment it has, whether it's dually or not, and where you are, then go here:
www.kbb.com
or
www.nada.com
That doesn't sound like a bad price, but you can also get new car invoice on kbb.com or MSN Autos. Any dealer should give you close to invoice or even below it if you have x plan.

It sounds like a great truck but frankly, without knowing what any of the books say it's worth, I'd say it's priced pretty close, maybe a lottle high, but only if that's in Canadian $$
Seriously, that sounds really high. Again, not knowing anything about the truck, you could probably buy a new 350 DRW Lariat pretty loaded up for less than $40k without trying too hard....

Sounds high to me as well. I can buy a new 2004 LOADED XLT Crew Cab 4x4 for $36,000.
You didn't mention what cab configuration this truck is or whether it's a 4x4, that all comes into play. I'd also log onto to Autotrader.com and see what used '01's are bringing in your area, both from dealers and individuals. I'd think, if it's a 4x4 Crew Cab that mid to high 20's (at the most) would be more like it. There are times when a extra thousand or two is worth it if the vehicle is a low mileage one owner in top condition.
How long ago did this gentleman pass away? I'd want to know how long the truck has been sitting as well. Be sure to perform due diligence on the truck, use a creeper to access the underside go over the thing with a fine tooth comb. If you have a local Ford dealer whom you know, take the VIN to their service department to check and see if the truck has ever been in for service.
One good thing about an '01 is the tried and true 7.3 Powerstroke which lies within! Good Luck.

I doubt they take 25. I went and drove it last night. It is absolutely mint. You could literally eat off of the engine. It's incredible. It's a 4x4 Crew Cab Lariat btw.
The problem is that they are VERY proud of the truck and I doubt they come down much at all. I went to the salesmans desk and he went to kbb.com and nada.com and both listed similar numbers in the low 30's and I think that is what they expect. Not to mention tons of people are looking at it. No sweat for me cause it's not a necessity for me, just would be nice to have if the deal was right.
