About 2 years ago I stumbled onto something on the web about a guy in Canada or Alaska that had a VW Rabbit, diesel that was going to resturants on a regular schedule and removing their old cooking oil from their outside containers (with establishment permission). This guy was refining the old cooking oil into a biodegradeable diesel fuel. It was a very neat article--this Guy only spent like $12.00 in the last two years to purchase diesel fuel. Do a net search on biodiesel. I think you will find alot of info.
Recently I had an airport shuttle (Powerstroke) pass me going the opposite way. It smelled like popcorn. Yesterday, on the way home from work I was stopped at a traffic light and there was a shuttle turning left, coming toward me. On the side of the body was a large sign that read, "this vehicle operates on soybean diesel fuel".
