Exclamation 97 7.3 Turbo tensioner adjustment

My alternator went bad so I replaced it. Expensive but I thought I would at least save on labor. Well... When I tried to replace the drive belt I couldn't loosen the tensioner. Is the bolt in the center the one to loosen? I think there is a spring inside the housing and you just loosen the bolt but I can't budge it and I don't know if it's a left or right hand thread. I am afraid I will break it off. Some one out there should know how this is done.
Thanks

I know this is too late but I just registered. Do not loosen any bolts, the arm the idler pulley is on is spring loaded. put a long wrench on the pulley bolt and swing the whole arm up and slip the belt under the pulley wheel.
