I have been told that in the owners manual of new chevys that there is a mail in card where you can order the factory manuals for their vehicles and that these manuals were very helpful. I was ready to purchase the manuals for my new SD but found no such card in the manual and havn't heard anything about such a manual existing for a ford. Does anyone know if this exists and if so, how I can purchase one?

The reason their is no card in the Ford Owner's Manual is because FMC did not believe that Chevy Repair Manuals would help a Ford owner. The card was intentionally removed so you wouldn't order a Chevy Manual by mistake.


(Too bad, they didn't put in a card so we could order a Ford Manual!)

There's a phone number you can call to order them. I can't find the number right now but, I'll see if I can find it and post it if I do. I also don't see why if you called a dealer they couln't tell you what the number is. Just be ready for sticker shock when you hear how much they cost. I called around 9 months ago just to see how much they cost and if I remember correctly they were over $200.

In my "2000" Super Duty, there was a card to order "Technical Manuals" from HELM Inc. there WEB site is http://helminc.com

They seem to have manuals for almost every vehicle, except my "2000" SD.

Helm Incorporated is the only factory authorized source for "Factory Service Manuals". Ford, GM, Chrysler, they all are made by Helm. I've owned alot of cars/ trucks in my 52 years and have ordered service manuals, electrical manuals, and repair manuals from them many times using the coupons in the owners manual that came with whatever I was driving at the time.
