Post Excursion console in a F250 SC

BlueFlairside (and J-C's idea) inspired me to try this.

Read about it on a F150 here: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000346.html

I am going to try it. Got one in Medium Grey on the way. $50 plus shipping from LWM Enterprises at 1-800-259-5842(number and souce from BlueFlairside THANKS)They have more in all three interior colors bTW. Ask for Darin or Jamie. I will be posting as I go with pictures. As most of you know the F250 SC (XLT at least) does not give you cup holders in the back seat. I also wanted to put a power point back there. The Excursion one does give you two back cup holders and I think two up front as well. And I think this thing had a power point in the back. Only problem is what to do with the hole left from the rear radio controller that is no longer in there. Any ideas for that?

Great idea, I hope the install goes easy. How are you planning on handling that power point in the console?? What was Ford thinking to not have any cup holders in the rear area??? The Crew cabs have a rather neet one, in the middle. But if I have a third person back there, I remove it to give them more leg room, leaving everyone w/out cup holders. Ford just was not thinking when they designed those rear doors.

Yes not very thoughtfull of them huh? They put ash trays back there! But no cup holders.

I am hoping to snake a wire under the floor covering up to the main fuse box and used one of the unused fuse points to hook it up. If not, I will tap into the existing power point.

I assume I might lose some center seating foot room from the intrusion of the console but I will have to wait and see when it gets here how big it is. I only have the one kid and his buddy back there at anytime so I can live with that since it is a four door. I think this is very similar to the console that they use in the CC but I can see that it has two cup holders in the back and two in the front as well as the power point. From all indications it should bolt right in (I hope!) Only problem left is filling the hole left from the rear radio controls. Might fill it later with a seperate CD player with head phones or wait till I can get a cover plate for it. Supposedly the rear radio control is optional so they must fill it in with a cover plate when not purchased but the part is not avalable yet from Ford. Should be soon I understand.

If it doesn't work I am out only $65 and will try to sell it but no one seems to have tried this yet on a F250. Another guy on Ford.Diesel.Com is gettting ready to try it.

Here is the pictures of the thing installed.

This one shows the bolt pattern. It is exacly the same for both:

This one shows the back cup holders and power point.

This is one of the Excursion one in between the seats.

Here is a view of the two for comparison:

F250 OEM one.

Excursion one.

CPhilip: well that sure turned out well!! Question: Do you think the gray do-dad holder in the SuperDuty console can be exchanged for the nice cup-holder in the excursion console??? Looking at your pictures, they seem to look very much alike in how they fit together w/the console.

Seems like it should Tina. It is the same size but I can't figure out how its fastened in there. Might be able to get to some tabs from under side after you remove it. I will look at the old one and see.

But then what would you do with your Do-Dads?

BTW Tina, I know your not towing yet, but have you installed a tranny temp guage in yours yet? I am trying to identify some wiring scources for this 2000.
