Question Stupid question about dualies ive allways wondered about
why are wheels on dualies and all Bobtails etc for that matter convex? In other words why do the studs/hubs poke out so far?

Typically the front hubs will have adapters so that all wheels can be used on all axles. This helps when it's time to rotate the tires.
