Product review- Superlift leveling kit installed
I just spent 6 hours in the driveway(myself) installing a Superlift leveling kit. I wanted to pass on some key points and opinions of this kit and the installation.
1a. Get a friend. Two miserable people are better than 1. If a friend is not available...substitute with a floor lift.
1b. Get the tallest jackstands available. My rotors were 1" off the ground when finished.
2. The front track bar frame bolt will bottom out on the steering box support(inside the frame box), thus snapping before getting the proper torque. This I know! The broken bolt removal snapped is a whole other topic and rather lengthy. Put lock washers on it to take up the extra length.
3. The sway bar is O.K., but I think longer links should have been included in the kit.
4. The bedroom is not the only place another 1/4" would help. The trackbar was a bear. Up,Down,Left,Right...pull it anyway you like. No fun.
5. The directions are very good. The quality of the fit and construction are excellent.
6. Get tools beforehand. 18mm and 24mm deep sockets are a must. Also a torque wrench to at least 250ft#(front spring eyes call for 259).
7. I had to use the Superlift front shocks til my RSXs get here. I hate them, but they ARE better than the stockers. In hindsight, the stockers may have been long enough.
8. I greased all spring wear pads with marine grease. A Ford dealer lied when they did the TSP work on the wear pads. A NEW one was wore through in 8K miles??? If you still have spring squeak, buy new ones if you are gonna do this install.
I will add more below...if I remember anything more.
