Post Who pulled the biggest load?

Who here has pulled over 7,000lbs? If more, how much? What engine, model do you have? What was being pulled? The most I pulled was about 3000lbs, and the triton had no problem whatsoever pulling it. I was pulling a open trailer with alot of wood.

I consistantly pull over 5K and pull alot around 8K. The most i have pulled was 12,432(weighed on scale), it was a 34' boat. I pull several 25' to 35' boats and have had no problems with any of them. You can hardly tell a load of 6K or less is even behind the PSD..the only way to go if you pull as much as I do(IMHO of course)

According to the TV commercial I saw, the Tundra pulls the most and you'd better get out of it's way.

(Have they gone to far?)

Thanks for the good words
I hope the pictures didn't take too long for you to upload...

BTW - My rig is 53 feet long - bumper to bumper. I'm still 1100# light of my Max GCVW and under the 65 foot limit imposed by some States

I have a friend who uses his F150 on the farm. He told me that he pulled a fertilizer buggy, fully loaded, to the field from the co-op. He has a 97 XLT, reg cab, long bed, 4WD, manual tranny, V6 (yes a V6). And for those of you who don't know, a fully loaded fertilizer buggy can weigh over 13,000lbs. What a truck!

It is possible, though I wouldn't reccomend it. I pulled 4500 lbs. with a 4cyl ranger auto. It is only rated at something like 2000 lbs. That v6 is making more than twice the power and torque that the Ranger was making. My Honda ATV is rated for 800 lbs trailers, but I put a 600 lb. trailer 1000 lbs of fertlizer, 500 lbs of rye grass, a spreader that goes on the back of a tractor, two chain saws, oil, gas, tools, 2 people on the trailer and two on the fourwheeler. So that is a total of over 2800 lbs. OVer three times what it is rated at. Just because it is rated at something doesn't mean it won't pull it. It is bad on the truck, and it would be scary to stop, but for a short trip I think it would do it.

Cool

Perhaps we should start a new thread to find out how many members have dangerously overloaded their trucks...
i.e. What's the stupidest thing you've done with your truck?

I once loaded over 4500 pounds into a '71 International 3/4 ton truck. (And nothing broke!)

The most I've ever towed was around 6000-7000 lbs.
One other time I had 48 bundles of shingles in the bed of the truck. I'm not sure exactly how heavy a bundle is but, I'm pretty sure it's around 80 lbs. I also have a 200 lb toolbox in the back so, I was at right around 2 tons. Still had a good 2" before the bump stops. I have a 99 F-250 super duty regular cab with a V-10.
