For owners of 7.3L Powerstroke & V10, A new product is avail. for at least 30 more H/P. It is the cyclone thermostatically controlled engine fan. Check out the US Gear website @ http://www.usgear.com then click on cyclone.

Talking

Reading this thread & listening to radio...

Tulsa Drivetrain Specialists is running an ad for the Cyclone fan. Claims 40 more HP, better mileage, cooler temps, cleaner dishes, brighter teeth, blah, blah, blah.

I just can't believe 30-40 HP is sucked up by the factory fan. Maybe 3 or 4, definitely less than 10. Besides, the OEM fan is "thermostatically" controlled too. You just can't control the thermostat.

I'm sure there are more efficient fan designs and that the Cyclone could be one of them. But all the other claims are a bit too much to believe.

Lightbulb

You can buy 2 or 3 (18-20") "puller" electric fans for that price. They move 2500 cfm and are slim line. Wiring them with a relay and thermostat is easily done.
