new engine soon?
I dont know about you guys but i strongly think ford needs to do something fast. Not even so much as a bigger engine in the f-150 because they have plenty of room to tweak the current 5.4. But my concern is they need to get a new gas engine for the f-250. To me the 5.4 is underpowered for a 3/4 ton truck and the v-10 6.8 is just a gas hog and i havn,t heard alot of good about it power wise. Chevy has a decent 6.0. I really think ford needs to come with a 6.2 or something similar to that to throw into these 250's...not everyone wants a diesel..and yes i love the power of the powerstroke 6.0. And it would be sweet if u could get that size engine in the 1/2 ton. Just think it would be nice to offer a 6.2 in the 250's. What do you guys think?

I don't really see why the V10 is a gashog though, in any case I think Ford should be able to make the V10 run as good as a V8, If they made a much bigger V8 6.5-7 liters I'm sure gas mileage won't be any better on that one then the V10.
a friend of mine has a 2500 Chevy with the 6.0L and it runs great . I think Fords best bet to more performance in the V8 is to slap on one of the Eaton superchargers on it and maybe take it up to 6.0L

Well, most people that buy trucks are intend on using it as a truck is meant to be used. Us modifiers out there are a small percentage of the population. Nobody but us few actually want larger engines, people like my father are more worried about gas mileage than 0-60 times to be sure.
Look at Toyota for example. None of their current production cars compete with other companies as far as hp, speed, et cetera yet they are one of the largest automobile companies out there. Why would Ford, from a business perspective) start producing high horsepower engines when the general public doesn't even want this?
