High mileage truck

Am looking at buying a second truck, and came across a 2003 F350CC SB with 358,000 miles. Supposedly otherwise is in excellent condition - guy used it for hauling canopies. The point of a second rig is to avoid putting massive miles quickly on a new one we just bought (due to our other being totalled). So I realize its a tiny bit stupid perhaps to even look at this high mile truck - but it won't be the main rig used. Asking 17,000 for it. Price I got from edmunds.com is $25 dealer/22 private party, even with a 2K deduction for that mileage.

Okay, will a diesel go 400K miles? Were told a new tranny is 3K, and engine around 5K, if needed. That most likely at 400K, the injectors would go ($300 each).

Stupid? Not stupid? Anything big I should know? Any help/scolding/etc appreciated.

TS

Edited to add: Its listed as an XLT, V8Turbo Diesel, 4WD, 4XOff Road Package, 6way cloth seats.
